Seasonal Weighmaster/Cellar Worker

We are located in the heart of the Russian River Valley of Northern California with over 40 years of history producing acclaimed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. More recently, we added Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon to the portfolio making La Crema winery a great place to learn the fundamentals of winemaking. We pride ourselves in our hands on approach to winemaking that results in remarkable wines.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Lab Supervisor, applicants will have the opportunity to be a part of the 2026 harvest process and assist in the receiving of grapes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
Duties include but are not limited to, the following:
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Communicate clearly with winery, vineyard, and transportation staff.
- This position requires basic arithmetic skills.
- Accurately calculate tonnage or gallonage on trucks received and shipped.
- Issue weighmaster certificates and BOLS.
- Maintain accurate records for grapes, juice, and wine receiving and shipping.
- Assist in recording laboratory results in winery database.
- Assist lab analysts on daily lab housekeeping, sampling, and grape/juice analysis as requested.
- Collect representative samples from tanks, barrels, and grape samples from trucks for lab analysis as needed.
- Prepare and analyze grape samples for Brix, titratable acidity, and pH.
- Monitor tank and barrel fermentations as requested.
- Maintain general cleanliness of the scale and sampling equipment.
- Follow laboratory and cellar Standard Operating Procedures and safety protocols.
- Provide general help in the cellar as requested.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime.
- Required to stand for long periods of time, occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of weight.
WAGE TRANSPARENCY:
The pay for this role ranges from $18.50 - $23.50 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
